Patisserie

Oggi avrei tanto voluto mostrarvi una novità culinaria ma purtroppo.... non è riuscita.
Qualche tempo fa ho seguito due corsi di pasticceria, uno per imparare a realizzare e decorare i cupcakes e l'altro per imparare a preparare i macarons.
Molto interessanti ma... come mai quando prepari qualcosa insieme allo chef viene sempre e quando ci riprovi tu nella tua cucina.. beh, lasciamo perdere!
Per i cupcakes nessun problema, li conoscevo già, ho solo imparato qualche trucco e le dosi perfette.
I macarons, invece.... ho scoperto che dovrei praticamente riallestire la cucina!

Today I would have liked to show you a new entry in my cook-book but unfortunately... it didn't succeed.
Some time ago I attended two patisserie courses, one to learn how to make and decorate cupcakes and the other one to learn how to make macarons.
Very interesting but... how comes that when you are realizing something with the chef it always comes out perfectly and when you are on your own in your kitchen....???
I already knew the cupvcakes, so no problem at all but when it came to the macarons... I just learnt I have to remodel my kitchen!

... e la mia mini versione, preparata la sera stessa per i miei amici che sono venuti a trovarmi. Cupcakes alla vaniglia del Madagascar con crema al burro leggermente colorata e glitterata (non si vede, accidenti!).

and my small version prepared the very same evening for some friends who came to my place. Madagascar vanilla cupcakes with lightly coloured buttercream (it also has some glitter, but you can't see it in the pictures, damn it!)

Il cupcake "normal size" prevede una quantità di crema al burro che alla fine diventa quasi nauseante. Grazie alla mia amica Marina, però,  ho una super teglia per mini dolcetti che è perfetta!
The normal size cupcakes needs so much buttercream that at the end it becomes too sweet. Thanks to my friend Marina, anyway, I have a pan for small cupcaked which is perfect!! 

E questi invece sono i macarons che mi sono portata a casa al termine del corso.
Quelli che ho fatto oggi non ve li mostro neanche, non sono degni di chiamarsi macarons.
Forse però... ho inventato un nuovo dolce!

meteoropatia

Ho sempre guardato con un po' di sospetto le persone che si dichiaravano meteoropatiche... ok, può dare molto fastidio se programmi una bella gita e poi piove, ma da qui a dire che la pioggia o il brutto tempo riescono a generare delle patologie....
Mi sa che mi devo ricredere!
E' stato (ed è ancora, per certi versi) un periodo molto strano: dopo una crisi di panico fortissima, la settimana prima di Pasqua, che si è portata dietro, angoscia, buio e sconforto, ora la situazione si è stabilizzata su un livello di "stabile andante". Nel senso che non sto più male, ma non posso nemmeno dire di stare bene. Non provo gioia nelle cose che prima mi rendevano felice. Non mi alzo alla mattina con un senso di "nuovo giorno" da riempire di cose belle. Boh. Magari è la primavera sbocciata di colpo, magari è stato tutto il tempo brutto che lascia ancora il segno, chi lo sa.


I have always considered people who declare themselves "meteoropathic" with a bit of suspicion... ok, I know it can be really annoying when you plan a day trip and it begins to rain, but saying that rain or bad weather can cause a real desease....
I suppose I have to think differently!
It has been, and it still is, for certain aspects, a very strange period: after suffering, the week before Easter, of a strong panic attack which brought together anguish, darkness and discouragement, now the situation has stabilized itself.
I mean I am not bad anymore, but I can't honestly say I'm good either. I don't enjoy the small things that used to make me happy. I don't get up in the morning with the pleasent feeling of a new day to fill with good thoughts and things. And to me this is more worrying. Maybe it's the spring that bloomed out suddenly or maybe the bad weather which has not left completely...

In ogni caso, la mia azalea è fiorita colorando un angolino del balcone con un belissimo rosa carico... non vedo l'ora che faccia un pochino più caldo per fare colazione in mezzo ai miei fiori!

E per festeggiare la nuova stagione ho cucito alcune nuove sciarpine leggerissime in chiffon dalle tinte accese. Per renderle un po' più glamour, ho aggiunto alla fine delle perle colorate in tinta e componenti color argento anticato. Non vi sembra che richiamino i regni lontani dell'India dei maharaja?

 Anyway, my flowers began to bloom coloring a little corner in my balcony of a lovely pink shade... I'm just waiting it'a a little bit warmer so I can have breakfast among my flowers.
And to celebrate the new season I have prepared some new soft scarves, in bright coloured chiffon.
To add a bit of glamour I just put at the end some matching beads and components in an antique silver colour. I think they recall the faraway indian kingdoms... what do you think??

E per finire... molto probabilmente parteciperò ad un mercatino! Sarà a metà maggio, vi darò maggiori indicazioni più avanti!!!

Last but not least, I decided to try a small market, in the half of may.... I'll give you more indications!!

Spring stroll along the Northern Sea

Ciao a tutti! Oggi va un po' meglio... lo sapevo che sarebbe passata!
Vi avevo promesso una novità nel mondo Tilda, no? Ebbene è uscito l'ultimo libro (Sommerliv), con progetti deliziosi tutti legati al mondo del mare, tra meduse, balene e velieri.
E queste adorabili bambole, agghindate per una passeggiata lungo la spiaggia... ma fa ancora freddo! Allora hanno preso in fretta un bel golfino fatto a mano, abbinato all'abito sui toni del bianco/blu/azzurro e agli stivaloni per non bagnarsi i piedi...

Hi there! Today it's a bit better... I knew it would pass!
I had promised you some news into the Tilda world, didn't I? Well, it has just been published the last book with lovely projects related to the sea world, among jellyfish, whales and ships.
And these wonderful ladies, ready to go out to take a stroll along the shore... but it's still cold! SO they have grabbed a nice cardigan, handknitted, to go together with the dress, all in the white, blue and cream tones, and the boots, to protect their feet...

Non ho resistito e ne ho fatte due! Che ve ne pare??
Non vi portano con la fantasia lungo una spiaggia del Mare del Nord, o in Cornovaglia on in Bretagna, mentre cercano i tesori che il mare abbandona sul bagnasciuga?

I could not resist and I made two of them! What do you think? Aren't they lovely?
Don't they take you immediately to a Northern Sea shore or in Cornwall or in Brittany looking for the treasures the sea leaves on the seashore??

Non sono un'amante del mare, in spiaggia mi annoio e detesto il caldo, ma questo tipo di mare, immerso ancora in un'aria invernale o primaverile, è così pieno di ispirazione e poesia!! Ho voglia di cose delicate.

I'm not a sea lover, I get bored lying on a beach and I don't like the hot but this kind of sea, a winter/spring sea... it's so inspirational!! I really want some delicate things right now...
