Dolls of the World - Spain

Dalla corte di Versailles basta fare un salto oltre i Pirenei per trovarsi in Spagna.
La Spagna l'ho visitata parecchio, cominciando dall'Andalusia (qui trovate il resoconto di quel bellissimo viaggio), per proseguire con una settimana a Barcellona e dintorni e due lunghi weekend uno nella Saragozza mudejar e l'altro a Madrid, tra churros, tapas e ottimi musei. Chi mi conosce sa che amo, tra tutte, l'arte e l'architettura medioevale, quindi non poteva mancare un bel giro nelle città principali della Castilla y Leon (Avila, Salamanca e Segovia) a cui abbiamo aggiunto l'antica Toledo, dove è impossibile non perdersi tra i vicoli del vecchio quartiere ebraico con le sue sinagoghe dalla chiara influenza araba. Ci sono ancora alcuni posti che mi piacerebbe visitare in Spagna, primi fra tutti la campagna della Castilla La Mancha e la città di Santiago di Compostela.

My best memories from Spain

From the royal court of Versailles, you just need to cross the Pyrenees to find yourself in Spain.
I have seen much of Spain, starting from Andalusia (here you'll find some info about that beautiful journey), and then continuing with a week in Barcelona and surroundings and two long weekends, one in the mudejar city of Zaragoza and the other one in Madrid, among churros, tapas and stunning museums. People who know me are perfectly aware of the fact that, among all, I love the medieval art and architecture, so I could not resist doing a trip in the main cities of Castilla y Leon (Segovia, Avila and Salamanca) to which we added the ancient Toledo, in which it's impossible not to get lost in the narrow streets of the old jewish neighbour, with the muslim-influenced synagogues. There are still some places in Spain thet I'd love to visit, first of all the countryside of Castilla La Mancha and the city of Santiago de Compostela.

Dalla Spagna arriva questa piccola ballerina di flamenco, che indossa un abito composto da un corpetto bianco, una lunga gonna in pizzo rosso e una mantilla nera con lunghe frange. Il corpino è in un cotone operato bianco, con scollatura dritta e senza maniche.
From Spain, here you are this little flamenco dancer, who wears a dress composed of a white bodice, a long skirt in red lace and a black mantilla with long fringes. The bodice is in a white operated fabric, with no sleeves and straight neckline.

La gonna è realizzata con cinque strati di pizzo rosso sovrapposti, e ha una piccola coda. Per dare un tocco più glam (ed evitare l'effetto "bambola-souvenir-anni '70") la gonna è stata impreziosita con una manciata di piccole paillettes sui toni del rosso. In vita porta un'alta fascia in velluto nero come cintura.
The skirt is composed of five layers of red lace with a small train on the back. To add  a touch of glamour (and avoid the "seventies-souvenir-doll" look) the skirt has been decorated with a bunch of small red sequins. On her waist she wears a large black velvet sash as a belt.

L'insieme è completato da una mantilla in pizzo nero con lunghissime frange. Sul bordo della mantilla sono state applicate paillettes nere e piccole perline dorate per dare un tocco di luce. 
The ensemble is completed by a mantilla in black lace with very long fringes. On the border of this shawl a line of black sequins and small golden beads has been added to give a touch of brightness.

I lunghi capelli neri sono stati raccolti morbidamente all'altezza delle spalle. Indossa semplici orecchini a cerchio dorati e ha una rosa tra i capelli, fatta con una perla di vetro rossa sagomata.

Her long black hair has been tied up softly on the shoulder. She wears simple golden circle earrings and has a red rose on her head made of a glass shaped bead.

Anche in questo caso l'originale è stato modificato abbastanza, non ero del tutto contenta del risultato finale....
This time also the original doll has been modified quite heavily, I was not that happy with the final result....
