Dolls of the World - Egypt

Dopo aver esplorato i regni in cui si sono sviluppate le antiche civiltà orientali, Tilda è tornata verso casa. Però, siccome è appassionata di archeologia e di arte antica non ha potuto non fermarsi in Egitto, culla di una delle più importanti civiltà del Mediterraneo.
Queste sono le foto che sintetizzano il mio viaggio: il delicato color sabbia ovunque, per terra, nei monumenti dove le incisioni dei geroglifici adornano le pareti con le loro ombre, e lungo le sponde del Nilo. Il Nilo, fiume mitico, con il suo dolce scorrere tra deserto e palme che più si scende verso Aswan sono sempre più rade.
Bellissima crociera, un senso assoluto di libertà e di gioia. E' proprio la gioia profonda la sensazione che affiora tra i miei ricordi per prima.

After visiting the two countries in which were born the ancient oriental civilizations, Tilda came back home. But as she's really fond of archaeology and ancient art she couldn't but stop in Egypt, where one of the most important mediterranean cultures developed.
These are the pictures that summarize my trip: the delicate sand colour everywhere, on the groung, on the monuments where the hieroglyphics embellish the walls with their shadows and shapes and along the Nile. The Nile, the mythical river, flowing sweetly among desert and palm trees that, getting closer to Aswan become fewer and fewer.
A wonderful cruise, an absolute feeling of freedom and joy. And it's deep joy the feeling I recall first when I think of this trip.

My best memories from Egypt

Ecco allora una elegante principessa del Nilo.
Il vestito è costituito da una tunica in chiffon bianco leggermente increspato lunga fino ai piedi. In vita una cintura dorata collega la gonna al corpino e si divide in due lembi.
Appuntato alle spalle indossa un lungo mantello anch'esso in chiffon bianco.

So here you are an elegant princess of the Nile. 
The dress is a feet-long tunic in a white chiffon, very slighly creased. At her waist a golden belt connects the skirt to the top and then divides in two.
On her shoulder she also wears a long mantel made of the same white chiffon.

I pezzi di cui sono più orgogliosa, tuttavia, sono quelli che costituiscono gli accessori.
Un collare ampio realizzato con un nastro pieghettato dorato e sul quale ho ricamato tre file di perline, in blu e rosso, come i gioielli antichi.

Due bracciali portati sugli avambracci, che sono due anelli dorati piuttosto spessi che ho piegato con la pinza per creare l'effetto "serpente" e una coppia di orecchini realizzati con charms dorati a forma di scarabeo trovati su Etsy. Di questi orecchini sono assolutamente orgogliosa!!

But the pieces I'm most proud of are the accessories. A large collar made of a folded golden ribbon on which I have created a decoration similar to the ancient egyptian jewels by embroidering three rows of seed beads in blue and red.
Two arm bracelets which are simply two large golden rings that I have bent with the pilers to create the "snake" effect and a couple of golden scarab earrings (lovely charms I have found on Etsy). I'm so happy and proud of these earrings!!!

 Come anche del copricapo che ho realizzato in tessuto blu rinforzato sul modello della corona di Nefertiti. Una volta creata la struttura ho aggiunto il fascione centrale dorato e ho applicato un nastro più sottile che avevo ricamato con filo rosso e verde creando il motivo a quadratini.

As I am of the headdress, which I created with an enstrenghten dark blue cotton copying the Nefertiti crown. After creating the main body I added the large central golden sash and I applied a smaller ribbon which I had painstakingly embroided with green and red thread to create the squared pattern.

Che dite?
Questo abito è stato lungo e laborioso, sia per la realizzazione degli accessori (non vi dico quante volte ho rifatto il collare!) sia per decidere quale tunica realizzare: l'arte egiziana è piena di bellissime raffigurazioni di abiti, decidere è stato arduo.
Nel complesso comunque sono molto contenta, una bella differenza dalla prima versione (qui il post).....

What do you think?
This gown has been really long and difficult to create, both for the realization of the accessories (I won't reveal how many times I did and undid the collar!) and for deciding which kind of tunic realize. The egyptian art is so full of beautiful representations of dresses that the decision has been the hardest part!.
In the complex I'm very happy with the result: a dramatic difference with the first verson (here the post), isn't it??
