Creating a Haunted House (2)

Lo so che Halloween è passato, ma mi dispiaceva lasciare il discorso sospeso a metà e lunedì scorso, tra finire di pulire e sistemare la casa e cucinare per 12 persone, non sono riuscita a trovare un momento per scrivere.

Ecco l'altra parte delle decorazioni che ho creato quest'anno, tutte per ottenere l'effetto di una casa abbandonata da decenni e in seguito diventata l'antro di una strega.

I know Halloween is far behind our backs but I didn't like to keep it all suspended, and last Monday, after finishing decorating and cleaning the house and cooking for 12 people, I just couldn't find time to write.
Here you are the rest of the decorations. The aim was to create the atmosphere of an abandoned house which later has become the cave of a witch.

Oltre alle tonnellate di ragnatele (ne ho messe anche su tutte le mensole, ma la foto dei lampadari l'ho scattata prima...) ho creato anche due angolini con libri di incantesimi e bottiglie di ingredienti velenosissimi. Un quaderno con la copertina di cuoio faceva proprio al caso mio, così ho semplicemente stampato la pagina del libro della strega di Biancaneve, quella con la ricetta della mela avvelenata. Con due pezzetti di washi tape l'ho fissata al quaderno e il risultato mi sembra perfetto.

Le bottiglie le ho da qualche anno: vecchie bottiglie scure di birra o vino alle quali ho applicato delle etichette stampate sulla carta adesiva.

 

Other than the tons of cobwebs I also created two small corners with books of spells and bottles of very pisonous igredients. A notebook covered with embossed leather was just right, so I printed the page of Snow White's poisonous apple recipe and I attached it on the notebook with some washi tape. I think it was really perfect.

The bottles are an old piece: some dark bottles on which I have added the labes printed on adhesive paper.

Dall'altra parte, ho utilizzato un lenzuolo bianco per coprire il mobiletto dei CD e ho aggiunto anche qui qualche libro. ho scelto quelli più vecchi, con le copertine un po' consumate e da uno di questi ho creato un Grimoire (altro libro essenziale per le streghe). Anche in questo caso ho stampato l'immagine che mi interessava e l'ho fissata al libro aperto.

On the other side of the room I used a white bedsheet to cover the shelf with all the CDs and I added here some books too. I chose some with old and a bit consumed covers and I created a Grimoire (another essential book for any respectable witch). I simply printed the image I needed and added it to the book with washi tape.

Ed infine la tavola, tutta nera e arancione. Quest'anno, visto che eravamo in tanti, piati, posate e bicchieri di plastica.  E... crostata di zucca ai formaggi, tartellette con pesto e tonno, mini sformatini di formaggi, fagottini scamorza speck e patate, rotolini ai wurstel e risotto al sangue di troll ... oops... alla birra scura!

And finaly the Halloween table, all black and orange. And... pumpkin and cheese pie, small pies with pesto and tuna, mini cheese souffles, wraps with scamorza, speck and potatoes, wurstel rolls, and troll blood .... oopps... red beer risotto!!
