Jane Austen dolls

Lo confesso, non sono una fan sfegatata di Jane Austen. Ho letto qualcosa e ho visto alcuni film che hanno portato sul grande schermo i suoi libri, ma nel complesso non posso dire, al contrario di mia mamma e della mia amica Alessandra, di amare moltissimo questa scrittrice.
Ok, a Bath sono anche andata a visitare il Jane Austen Centre, ma più che altro mi interessa la moda dell'epoca e l'atmosfera della Vecchia Inghilterra. Invece i personaggi non mi prendono. Mi sono però ripromessa di impegnarmi e leggere qualcosa in più senza pregiudizi.
Però le bambole Jane Austen di Tilda sono un incanto e sono stata veramente felice di realizzarne ben due contemporaneamente. Commissione super veloce (tipo dal mercoledì alla domenica...) ma guardate un po'!
Una ha un vestito azzurro con delle roselline rosse, decorato da nastrini azzurri e un mazzolino di rose e perline alla cintura. Gli stessi fiorellini se li è messi fra i capelli.
La sorellina (sorellona, in realtà, perchè queste bambole sono molto più grandi delle solite che realizzo!) ha invece un vestito giallo con piccole decorazioni senape, fiori e nastrini bianchi.
Sono entrambe un amore, no?
Io fra le due preferisco quella in giallo, sarà che questo colore che spopola tra le vetrine nelle sue tinte più calde e avvolgenti mi intriga molto!

Ed ora... mentre lavoro le nuove sciarpe e scaldavcolli super glamouir, si inizia con i Christmas projects!

I have to confess it, I'm not such a great fan of Jane Austen. I read a couple of books and I saw some of the films that brought on the big screen her novels, but on the whole, contrary to my mum and my friend Alessandra, I don't love this novelist that much.
Ok, when I was in Bath I went and visited the Jane Austen Centre, but I am interested more in fashion and in the Old England atmosphere rather than in her characters. Anyway I decided I have to give her another chance and  I'm going to read something elese without prejudices.
But the Tilda Jane Austen Dolls ar lovely! I've been so happy I had to make two of them!! Super quick order (you know.. from Wednesday to Sunday....) but look at them!!
One of the two has a cute blue dress with small red roses, decorated with a coupleof blue ribbons and a bunch of little blue roses with pearls on the closure of the dress. She put the same flowers in her hair too.
Her little sister (better, big sister, as these dolls are much bigger than the ones I usually sew) has a yellow dress with small decorations in the mustard shade, white ribbons and flowers.
They're both lovely, aren't they???
I prefer the yellow one, as I love this colour that in its warmer shade is shining from each shop window this winter.
And now... while knitting new super glamorous scarves and necwwarmers, let's start with the Christmas projects!!
